Leicester Tigers at the Enterprise Awards
Leicester Tigers attended the Enterprising Women Awards to present the winner of its sponsored Team of the Year 2017 category.
Taking place at Colwick Hall Hotel, Nottingham, and hosted by ITV’s Emma Jesson, the event saw businesses from around the East Midlands come together to celebrate the achievements of successful women.
The Team of the Year category welcomed six finalists from industries including accountancy, events and IT. The winner was the Geldards Family Team, of Geldards family law based in Derby.Demonstrating strong examples of businesses success, Geldards took the top prize while Pick Everard, an independent management, design and construction consultancy from Leicester, took the Highly Commended award.
Fiona Apthorpe, Partner at Geldards, said: “It’s an incredible achievement to be a finalist, let alone winners, and it really demonstrates how far we have come as a business. Our growth has seen us expand across the East Midlands, most recently in Nottingham, and we aim to double in size again, so this award really does support our success.
“I’m really proud that recognition is for the Team of the Year, as everyone associated with Geldards has put in a tremendous amount of hard work, expertise and teamwork, so the award really recognises our dynamic teams across the business.”
Andrea Pinchen, Commercial Director at Leicester Tigers, said: “It is a really inspirational event, all the more so this year as Enterprising Women is celebrating its 20th anniversary. It’s always a joy to see so many successful businesses representing the East Midlands. Huge congratulations to Geldards for its efforts, not forgetting our thanks to all our finalists and applicants. It was an extremely tough judging process.
“Alongside an impressive business model, the Geldards team constantly delivers above and beyond for its clients, one example which included a touching case study that demonstrated how all teams came together to achieve a common goal. We are excited to see what the future has in store for Geldards and wish them all the best as they continue to grow their already impressive team.
“We must also congratulate our Highly Commended award winners, the Perfect Circle team at Pick Everard, who we felt deserved a special mention alongside our winners. The team has continually helped shape and innovate the design and construction industry and are doing some great work for local communities and public sector bodies.”
As part of the Women in Business Mentoring Scheme at this year’s awards, Andrea will also be mentoring Jade Patel, a Business Analyst at Cambridge & Counties Bank, providing one-to-one support, guidance and encouragement in order to aid her professional development.
The awards were organised by the East Midlands Chamber.
